As far as I know the GEM ( Generic Electronic Module ) controls the 4x4 on the 1995
Ford Explorer and I believe that is in the center stack of the dash behind and to the left
of the radio

4 wheel drive module located in the passenger side kick panel. Most likely condensation got in the plug. About 450.00 to replace it at a dealer! Checked on 7/27/07.

Well I have a 1996 Ford Explorer V8 All wheel drive Eddie Bauer edition and mine has a 130 amp alt. You can always call ford and ask too.
U don't-the squeeking is from a worn out Bushing.
