Connected to the master cyclinder.
There is no brake light sensor. There is however a brake light switch. It may be mechanical, which would be located somewhere on the brake pedal lever. It can be bad or just out of adjustment. It can also be a pressure switch located on the master cylinder.
Where is brake light fuse for 2004 Ford Explorer located
The brakelight sensor is located on the brake switch, which is on top of the brake pedal and held on with a 14mm jam nut.
the sensor is in the brake pad itself, it clips in top of brake pad
the brake sensor for the 2001 dodge stratus is located on the inside of the car under the brake paddle.
it is located to the right of the brake pedal
There is a brake fluid sensor located in the reservoir at the master cylinder. When the brake fluid is low it will turn the light on.

These cars had issues with the pedal pressure sensor located in the brake booster. Additionally the brake booster it self is also known for failure on this car.
The sensor for the rear wheels are located on the brake shoe backing plate if you have drum brakes on the rear. The front brake sensor is located next to the caliper. The same if you have rear disc brakes.
The speed sensor(s) are located behind the brake discs on the front end
