Open up the engine hood, as you look at the engine from the front to rear, look over to your left. It will be in the black ABS plastic box, with a snorkel going to the front radiator. When you open this box, there will be 2 metal boxes inside; one will be marked Aisin, the other Bosch. The Aisin box is the transmission computer, the other is the engine. Hope this helps you out.
yes they are identical cars but you must do a complete swap (engine ECU as well) Kyle
where is the ecu located on a 97 ford probe
its located under the center of the dash
Most 200 series Volvo share a similar design. Both the Ignition and Fuel Injection Electronic Control Units (ECU) is located behind the outside passenger-side kick panel. To get to it, remove the plastic panel and the overhead insulator, the Ignition ECU is mounted on the firewall, and to its right, the Fuel Injection ECU.

Just in front of the ECU case. As you look into the engine compartment from the front of the car, there is a steel line to the left of the radiator core and in front of the ECU compartment. Look for a plastic cap, remove the cap and the port is revealed.
Volvo recommends premium, but it can run on regular just fine without affecting the life of the engine. In turbo models, the ECU dials back the turbo if you feed it regular, so performance will decrease, but the engine will run just fine.
Freightliner and Volvo.
No, just make sure the replacement ECU is from that year/model. There are differences in the 2.9 engines from 1995 through 1997 than the earlier 960 2.9l engines.
In the dash, behind roughly the center area where the radio is.
I think it's on the floor behind the center console.
