Want this question answered?
car will have a hard time starting, or more commonly will not start at all
more to the point why would you want to?? anyway if you are sure you want to do this there will be a fuse in the engine bay labelled EGI in the manual. this will disable spark, injectors and fuel pump. car will still turn over though.
Inside the fuel tank
If you look on the driver side back by the break pedle you will see the fuse panel
you most likely have gas in your oil so take out the second fuse from the motor (fuel pump/ EGI) in the main fuse box under the hood, start the car with your foot to the floor for 10 seconds then put the fuse back and repeat (meant for the second gen rx7 but the same principle works for all of them) and if you do not have fuel or spark or the car will not turn over the previous will not help you - Bailey nv8.ca
An odd stud pattern on the s3 1984 rx7 . It's 114.3x4...
on left side of car near pedals.pull back carpet and you should see it
In order to unlood the RX7 u need to remove the EGI fuse in the fuse holder on the left hand side of the engine bay. then unplug the distributor loom. remove spark plugs. Keep the plug leads away from plug hole (fire risk). crank engine from 15 seconds let stand for 1 min and repeat 2-3 times. replace spark plugs, lead, EGI fuse and plug to dizzy. try to start engine when it fires keep the revs up around 2000 rpm for around 1 min. you may have to repeat the unflooding steps 2-3 times.
The "EGI INJ" fuse is the right fuse to pull out. It will stop the injectors from shooting out fuel. After pulling the fuse out, crank engine for 15 seconds, rest, crank for another 15 seconds, rest crank for another 15 seconds, rest, put the fuse back and then crank. engine should basically start. if the engine is still not starting, take out the spark plugs and put oil around the seal, thread area and replace back. Do the same previous procedure mentioned The engine should finallly turn over now and start.
AnswerIf your fuse box does not have a panel to show you what you are looking for (Why the heck it's like that is so stupid), then google "Fuse panel 88 RX7 diagram". You will find some there.
DefloodingThere are a few tried and true ways to do it. The first and most popular is to pull the EGI fuse in the enginebay fuse box and crank the engine for a few seconds. Then, replace the EGI fuse and try to fire the car up again. The second method involves disconnecting the fuel pump and turning over the car. Both have the same effect. One other method is to hold down the pedal on the car while cranking, while I have read of this working. The EGI fuse seem to yield more consistent results.another method to help solve the problem is to take the two main sparkplugs out . unplug the coils and then turn the motor over a few seconds. that will push the majority of fuel out of the housing. reinstall what you disconnected and try to start the motor
located under driverside, about 20 inches away from the front wheel.it's tucked tightly up by the transmission.
