They are usually on the valve cover. Trace the hoses from the carb since they are vacum actuated. 1 of those should lead you right to it. If you shake it & there is movement inside, it is good.

The PCV Valve is located in the valve cover not the EGR. The EGR valve is located on a spacer block that is installed between the Carburetor and the Intake Manifold. It points to the back side of the engine behind the carb. The EGR will be visible once the air cleaner assembly is removed.
