I have a 2000 Grand Am Gt with a V6 RamAir engine and my car wouldn't start last week. I wasn't sure what was wrong with it so I had my friend take a look at it. I put gas in and I knew it wasn't the battery because the lights were starting. It was making noise n wanted to turn over, but it wasn't. He took apart the fuel pump which is located to the right of the engine. It looks like a tube that's maybe 5 or 6 inches in diameter. It has hose clamps on both ends of it and can be taken apart using a screwdriver. He took it apart n sprayed starter fluid in it n we got a spark n got the car to start, but obviously it wasn't going to stay started for long. I'm taking it to a mechanic tomorrow morning to get a new fuel pump. So to answer your question, its under the hood on the right side of your engine. Its black and is about 10-12 inches long and 4-6 inches wide. You'll be able to tell by the hose clamps on the end of it that attaches it to your engine. Hope that helps.
