The map sensor on a 1990 Ford 5.8 EFI Bronco is on the passenger side. It is located on the firewall.
The temp gauge may stop working on an 89 Ford Bronco if it is defective, the temperature sensor is damaged, or the wiring has come loose. All can readily be fixed by checking each component separately.
I have a 1995 bronco and the sensor is located to the right of the distributor. It has only one wire running to it. Mine is a 5.8 as well. I'd imagine the location is the same on the '89 model.
Its on the back firewall, if you follow that single vacume hose on the backside of your Throttle Body it will go straight up to your MAP sensor.
The MAP sensor is located on the passenger's side strut tower. There is a solenoid connected to it by a short piece of hose, and a hose runs from that solenoid to the intake. The MAP sensor will have a 3-pin electrical connector on it.
lack of heated o2 sensor switch, lean bank # 1

Try testing throtel position sensor or map sensor.
I know on the 89 CRX HF the MAP sensor is located on the firewall. Look for the 3 pin. Should have a white wire, green/white(-), and yellow/red(+)
I have an '89 Bronco XLT, it has a 25 gallon tank
On the firewall passenger side.Held on a brackett with two screws.
