it is under the dash on the right side of the steering colum, it is black colour and hard to see. the 16 pin socket facing down, another reason it is hard to see. pal horvath

The OBDII on a Toyota Tacoma 1998 is located on the driver side under the console right above the gas pedal... I should know I own a Tacoma 1998.

On Camry 1998 all sensors are OBD 2 because it's a standard. You need to specify which sensor you are talking about.
Open the flap under the steering wheel, and you can see the 18 pin socket. Plug your OBD2 device here. However, be aware that TOYOTA uses a different protocol as I could not get to work with my OBD2 device.
