How do I replace the PCV valve in my 1990 Acura Integra?

PCV Valve Replacement. A Bad PCV Valve sometimes causes decreased gas mileage. Depending on the age of your engine, this plastic valve could be rather easy or extremely difficult to remove. Do yourself a favor and CHECK FIRST to see if it needs to be replaced. To CHECK: At engine idle, lightly pinch the hose connecting the PCV Valve to the Intake Manifold. If there is a clicking sound coming from the PCV valve, it is fine. If not, you may need to replace the PCV Valve. What you Need: New PCV Valve (~$3 aftermarket; ~$14 OEM Honda Part) 1. Look at the throttle body assembly. You are going to see a mess of vacuum hoses running all over the throttle body, the one that you need to be concerned about is the hose that's on the right hand front side of the throttle body. 2. Once you find that hose follow it down to the intake runners. The hose will lead you to the left (passenger side) of the engine, kind of right behind the oil fill cap. 3. The PCV valve has a 90 degree bend on the top of it were the vacuum hose from the throttle body hooks to it. 4. The easy way to remove the PCV valve is to gently rock it side to side as you pull upward. Once you have it out, you can disconnect the vacuum hose from the throttle body. 5. Installation is the reverse.
