Many of the 4.0 motors were never equipped with a PCV, but use the smaller line at the back of the valve cover to the intake as a meter orifice. The system is called CCV, for Controlled Crankcase Ventilation. Installing a PCV will overpressurize the engine and blow gaskets and seals.

∙ 18y agoThere is no PCV,it is a CCV.It is located on the valve cover near the back.Take it out and use a paper clip to clean it out.Just straighten the clip and shove it trough the hole to remove the gunk,also take the line off that comes off the CCV and clean that with a good cleaner.

∙ 9y agoThe PCV valve should be on top of one of the valve covers. It is a plug in type, you can twist it gently and pull to remove.

∙ 14y agoThe 4.0L doesn't use a PCV, it uses a fixed orifice system. The orifice is the elbow coming out of the top rear of the valve cover.
