Hi, to get to the RAM you must remove the battery cover and battery and remove the floppy or CD drive, in the space where those two were is a screw hole, remove those two screws and also the one in the middle of those two. Flip the laptop back up the right way, and the panel that the mouse buttons are on will lift up, the slot for external ram is under there. I'm not 100% sure how you go about installing the RAM it may be plug & play.
You need to put the proper RAM in place. Otherwise it will not be detected no matter what. It is a SODIMM, maximum 128MB.
If referring to the BIOS password, you will need to contact a computer shop and/or Toshiba to find out how to drain the BIOS/CMOS chip to reset it.

Computer RAM is all internal. it exists in the form of a long narrow, flat piece of green plastic circuitboard with chips soldered on to it. RAM cannot operate outside of the computer. if you mean extenal memory like an external hard drive, or removable memory stick (like a USB keychain memory stick), then most manufacturers will make them. if you have Windows XP installed, you won't even need to install drivers.
no, altough lenovo features dd3 ram and high speed processor but it can't compare to toshiba.
there are are 2 ram slots on the L505-ES5018 upgradeable to 8GB MAX
Yes they do. I have a Toshiba Satellite L645 But it lags a little bit because it doesn't have a large amount of RAM!
I am not sure what model my toshiba PC is, but this will probably work fo yours. hold Dow the FN key ( bottom left on keyboard) while pressing F7 to make the screen brighter, F6 to make it dimmer. hope this helps, A random PC geek
Toshiba does not specify a maximum size hard drive for this laptop. Based on its age / date of manufacture, it was probably built around the time of the 2.1 GB barrier, and thus is already equipped with the largest possible drive usable under most operating systems.
RAM is located in the motherboard.
Often supplementary hardware uses some of the RAM. Some graphics cards for instance. Check items such as these
The company Toshiba has located it's world headquarters in Minato, Tokyo, Japan. It has it's United States headquarters in Irvine, California.
