It depends. if you have a eclipse that was made by chrystler then it is the one box deep behind the radio mounted on the floor board. it looks like an ecu but chrystler put that under the hood. If its a Mitsubishi made eclipse then the ecu is right beside the tcu behind your radio. the tcu in the Mitsubishi made car is to the right on the pasengers side.
I have 1994 Mitsubishi eclipse and have no spark i change cam and crank sensor but still no have spark can be icu
The Transmission Control Unit (TCU) on a 1992 Mitsubishi Diamante is typically located under the dashboard on the passenger side, near the floor. It may be mounted on or near the central tunnel or behind the kick panel. Accessing it usually requires removing some trim panels for better visibility and reach.
I have a 1993 Mitsubishi 3000gt and the TCU is located under the console / dash. It is mounted by a metal bracket to the floor pan. You will need to remove the side carpet panels and the entire front console to access the TCU.
It is most likely located in the center console behind and below the radio. It can be accessed by removing the kick panels from both the driver and passenger sides of the center console.
The TCU (Tranaxle control unit) puts the car into limp mode. Might be the TCU, but more likely than not, it is a transmission problem. Removing power from the TCU erases the memory, until it sees the fault again and puts the car into limp mode.
Definitely not an easy task. You would have to remove the whole dash, the ECU/TCU is located in the center bottom of the dash. Once the dash is removed the wiring harness is under the rubber material, then you would have to feed it through the firewall and on the other side (engine bay) disconnect the harness from the various engine components.
For an OBD2-b (1999+) civic, the TCU is built inside the ECU.
The TCU (Transmission Control Unit) on a 1997 Acura CL is typically located under the dashboard on the driver's side, near the steering column. It may be mounted on or near the fuse box or behind the kick panel. Accessing it usually requires removing some interior panels for better visibility and reach.
It's right in front of the battery there's two metal like boxes it's the one closer to the battery
the TCU has gone into fail safe so you should have third and reverse you may be looking at replacing the tcu check the auto oil level then the colour (bright red ) then the fuses if both are ok then the problem is electrical pick up a second tcu from a wrecker and try that
i cant find my tcu
I do not believe there is such a thing as a tcu. there is an ECM (engine control module), and a TPS (throttle positioning sensor) TCU: Transmission Control Unit. On a Jeep Cherokee (not sure about the Grand Cherokee), it's located on the passenger side behind the dash. You can reach it from the bottom without removing anything, but it is easier of you remove the bottom of the dash.
