Usually in three places:
- The dashboard - visible from outside looking down through windshield from drivers side
- The transmission will also have this number stamped on it
- The engine block has also been stamped with the number
It is also on you vehicle registration.
The VIN is located on the driver's side of the dashboard, near the windshield and viewed or read from the outside of the vehicle. While standing on the drivers side of the vehicle look at the dash through the bottom right part of the windshield, near where the glass meets the trim . There is a small metal tag affixed to the dash that has the VIN imprinted upon it. There is a combination of 17 letters and numbers.

On an 89' the VIN is located either on the right strut mount on the front under the hood, or the drivers side corner windshield.
They are located directly on the turbos. 300zx have internally wastegated turbos

The windshield washer reservoir in a Nissan 300zx is located behind the rear left trunk panel inside the trunk. This is where it is located in my twin turbo anyways.
