I found the orifice tube on the passenger side just under the front windshield inside the engine compartment. I was hidden by some plastic mesh held on by twist ties. Somewhat of a tight area to het at. The use of two open ended wrenches did the job. Now I am running down the road with an ice cold system blowing at me, after recharging the system. Not sure if it matters now, but the car is an 02 X-type with 2.5 engine. The orifice tube was easy to get out. All I used was a pair of needle nose pliers, replaced the o-rings too.
well is htr control valve
O-ring or flare is only the type of seal it has where it connects to the evaporator and the liquid line. The valve and the way it works is the same on either types of connection.
take it to a garage!!
an expansion valve is a common device in all type of cooling appliances. It works on a very basic principal. A compressor in the device compress the coolant in the machine, then it released from there it goes to expansion valve, in expansion valve the gas expand. Know if you would be having a basic knowledge about the conservation of energy then you you'd be knowing that energy is required for doing a work. So her work is done in expanding the compressed coolant in the expansion valve. So the energy required for this is obtained from the coolant itself which is hot on coming from the pipes after cooling the object it was made for. The heat of the coolant is used as energy source and gradually the temperature of the coolant drops down and become ready for sucking more heat.
Thermal Expansion Valve is a type of metering device which is one of the separation points between the high and low pressure sides of an air conditioning system (the other being the compressor). It depressurises the liquid refrigerant which passes through it, ensuring that low pressure liquid refrigerant is passed on to the evaporator.
When charging your Jaguar X-type air conditioning unit you will need R-135a Freon with oil added in. There are 2 ports on the air conditioning unit, one big and one small. Make sure that the car is running and the air conditioner is on full blast, then hook the Freon refill rig onto the port that it fits to recharge the system.
It bleeds automatically. There is no bleed valve or screw and no bleeding is necessary.
I had my S type done 1 year ago it cost me £450.00
The absolute most popular Jaguar is the D-Type. Others include the S.S. Automobile, the Jaguar XJ-S, the Jaguar XJ-13, the Jaguar E-Type, the Jaguar D-Type, the Jaguar MK II sedan, the Jaguar C-Type racing car, the Jaguar XK Sportwagen and the Jaguar XJ 220.
THE SPARK PLUGS ON A 2000 JAGUAR S-TYPE ARE LOCATED UNDER THE VALVE COVERS, ON TOP OF THE VALVE COVERS THERE IS A SMALL PLATE COVER WITH 8 LITTLE BOLTS THAT NEEDS TO BE REMOVED WHICH WILL THEN SHOW YOUR COILS, UNPLUG COILS PULL COIL OUT AND SPARK PLUG WILL BE LOCATED UNDER THE COILS. HOPE THIS HELPS
tis is normal for an expansion valve/receiver dryer type
The low pressure port is the smaller of the two ports in the refrigerant lines. It has a blue or green cap on it.
