Here's a site that will explain everything you need to know about airbag systems, airbag lights and resetting the system. It shows you the location of the components and the procedure for diagnosing and resetting airbag lights. http://www.airbagsolutions.com/ You can check to see if your car is listed here. http://www.airbagsolutions.com/vehicles_list.aspx If the light is flashing on your car it's telling you there's a problem. On some vehicles, the light is flashing a two digit code. Once you know the code, you can most likely repair it yourself. There are fairly easy procedures that most people are capable of repairing. Airbagsolutions.com has the fault code charts to tell you what is wrong and how to fix it! Some vehicle manufacturers let you access and reset systems without a scanner (like Toyota, Lexus, Nissan, Infinity, Honda, Acura, Ford, Lincoln, Mazda & Mercury) and some require a scan tool. Although it's a pay site ($14.95/day), it's a lot cheaper than going to the dealer

There is not a reset on any of the airbag components. If the light is on, there is a code , and a problem that needs repaired.
The airbag light of a car won't go out if an error has been detected. This can be a defect in the airbag itself, the sensor, or the wiring.
Turning off the airbag warning light on a vehicle is unsafe. The light is on for a reason, either a bad sensor, or an issue with the airbag. Either way, you should bring this in to a mechanic to have it looked at.
BAD SENSOR BE CAREFUL SENSOR CAN MAKE AIRBAG DEPLOY It means there is a problem with the SRS. WARNING: This is not a DIY repair. Take it to a professional and have it repaired.
The airbag light on a 2003 Mazda Tribute will stay on if a defect is detected in the system. This can include the sensor or the airbag itself which should be immediately repaired.
The 1997 Oldsmobile airbag module sensor can be found below the dashboard on the drivers side. The airbag module should be labeled as such.
I do not think so. I presume your light will not go out. The only airbag sensor is located in the airbag module (controller). Every other airbag connection is monitored for sort or open circuits My theory is the tester sat in the drivers seat during the test and twisted round in such a way to make the seat sensor or its wiring fail. You could check for an loose connector under the drivers seat. However to extinguish the light the faults will have to be cleared by an airbag scan tool.
$325 on a 2005 suburban at my mechanics garage.
If your airbag warning light is on, try and remove minus on your battery, wait for a couple of seconds and put it back together again. If you are lucky the airbag warning light will not show. But you should have a mechanic to take a look at it, a malfunctioned airbag can be dangerous if it dosent deploy if you crash. And you can only reset the warning light/sensor with a car diagnostic computer for checking and removing error codes, if the first thing i said didn't work. Hope this helps.
There are several reasons the airbag light will stay on, in your 1998 Dodge avenger. The most common reason is the airbag sensor is not functioning properly.
