under the left pop off side cover. my brake light fuse blew out because the main harness wire orange/violet shorted out under the front fairing on a sharp piece of metal the fairing comes off easily
In the control handle. If you take off the switch cover you will see the wires that lead into it. Usually it will need to be soldoered to replace it.
wire unhooked on the switch that is operated by foot lever or could be that the sender needs to be change location is near the rear brake master
brake light fuse 2006 harley softail heritage
check your bulb and fuse
Try checking the bulb, the brake light bulb may be blown.
Check your brake light switches. Chances are its the front one. The clip that holds the switch in place may have fallen out or the lever isn't hitting the switch.
check the play in your rear brake lever, may be too tight and activating the brake light switch. or the front brake lever may be depressing the switch in the control housing. or you have a bad switch. or, when you rewired it, after installing that cool skull tail light, you got the running light wire and the brake light wire backwards. The brake light switch in the hand brake is probably broken or the tab that pushes it is bent. You can also see if your throttle controle is pushed all the way up to the master cyclider.
Oil pump's bad. Keys are probably sheared off on the scavenger side. Don't buy HD.
i have 1983 sportster when ign key is in 1st position no lights are on as should be but when i apply the brake head light comes on when key is in second position head light is on as should be but brake light and running light are on also any cules what to look for
Motorcycle Front Brakes versus Brake LightsI'm not familiar with your bike as I'm into "old" [1950 and prior years] Indian and Harley machines. On those older machines, only the REAR brake pedal was fitted with a brake light switch, and the FRONT brake [on the handlebar] did not have a brake light switch.I suspect that is why you have no brake light operation IF using ONLY the front brake. If you're handy with tools, and with a little imagination, you should be able to successfully install a brake light switch into the front brake system.
Most likely cause is a problem with the front brake light switch located in the right switch housing on the handlebars. If you installed new levers you may have ones for a different model or the clip that holds the switch my have fallen out.
