Btw, I hate postings where people or supposed weekend mechanics GUESS at where thes parts are located!
The vapor cannister valve and the purge valve ( also called purge flow sensor ) are both located below the passenger side headlight. If you look right below the wires that hook to the headlamp you will see a round (1" diameter x 2" tall) solenoid valve (metal) from the top of it there is a connection (vacuum line (short) about 1.5 " each side....on both sides of the top of the solenoid. Valve may be good and rubber vacuum lines may be dry rotted like mine were.
The purge valve (black plastic )can be seen best from lying under the front bumper (with flash light) below the headlamp area
Again there are 2- vacuum lines coming into it and an wiring harness going to it. Mfg is BWD...PART # CP509. You can also buy OEM from Ford at about twice the price.
Both are easily changed working from under the passenger side bumper!
where is the canister purge valve located on a 03 chevy venture
The canister purge valve on a 98 Eclipse is located on the front of the car. It is on the right corner of the bumper.
The canister vent valve is located near the fuel tank. The canister purge valve is located on the engine.
like the charcoal canister could be located in the passeanger wheel well.
The purge valve on the Malibu is located on top of the charcoal canister that is mounted on the side of, or in close relation to the fuel tank. Usually on the same side as the filler neck. This purge valve is not to be confused with the purge valve solenoid which is located on the intake manifold. If for some reason you can not find the purge valve/canister just locate the solenoid on the intake manifold (which will have an electrical plug and one vaccum line attached to it.) and trace the vaccum line under the car to the canister. As stated above...it is there that you will find the canister purge valve.
Canister purge valve is located under the air cleaner assembly, remove the aircleaner and the airintake hose, remove air filter, underneath in air cleaner housing are 2 7/16 nuts, remove and take housing out. canister is underneath. valve closes to canister is the purge solenoid.
locate it next to engine
i believe the merc cougar (v-6 i assume) was a 3.8L and the v-8 was a 4.6L (that is what i have) on mine it is located behind the left tail light... from the top all u can see is a small white fitting with black vaccuum hoses on each side but from the bottom ( and the only way you can reach it) its a round solinoid with a 2 wire harness comming from it and it is about the diamater of a silver dollar.
most likely in the evap canister.
The computer on the car purges the evap canister automatically by activating the purge solenoid. The computer on the car purges the evap canister automatically by activating the purge solenoid.
The canister vent valve is located in back close to the fuel tank. The canister purge valve is located up front on the engine. If you're looking for the purge valve, look for a black plastic vacuum line under the hood that has a green dust cap on it. Follow that black line back to the engine. It will be connected to the purge valve.
Its located behind the passenger Head light... its a huge pain to get to...
