The PVC valve on a 98 Eclipse is located on to or the valve cover. It is connected to the intake with a hose.
If you are looking at motor from front and have cover removed it will be on left front of engine. It is small cylindrical cannister with hose out of each end. Look online at parts supplier for picture part # cp214

An 06 Eclipse is wider than a 98 Eclipse. So I suppose you could mke it fit with some cutting and refitting. All about how much work, time and money you want to put into it. It can be done, but it's not going to just bolt on.

The purge solenoid is located on a bracket behind the plate that the ignition coils and ignition control module sit on. Unbolt the rear nuts of the ignition plate and the bracket should slide out. Disconnect the sensor and the plastic hoses from the intake and vapor canister. Take a flat-head screwdriver and bend out the metal prong that holds the solenoid to the bottom of the bracket and the solenoid should slide right off.
On a 98 it is located on the front valve cover. It's a little black box with 2 hoses and a wire going into it right in the front of you when you open the hood. Not sure about a 2001 but I hope that points you in the right direction.
