probably a blown fuse. this happens to mine alot This is tough to answer because it depends on what type of XJ6 you are talking about. Is it the XJ40 series up to 1994 or is it the XJ6 x300 series up to 97 or the aj6 x308 series 1997 on?
The XJ6 from 1995-1997 is referred to as the X300 and the 1998 onwards sometimes called the XJR is referred to as X308.
x308 (1997 - 2002): two knock sensors, one on each bank, under inlet manifold. Later aj27 model uses ring type sensors. The connectors are either side of the thermostat housing at the front of the engine.
The XJ bit comes from the in house project codes X - Experimental J - Jaguar 6 - 6 cylinder They just didnt rename it when they put it into production. The similar XJ12 has a, you guessed it, 12 cylinder engine. The code name for the 86-94 model was XJ40, followed by X300, X308, X350, etc. All of these were known as XJ`s though the 6 was dropped with the X300 as it had an 8 cylinder engine.
They would fit on the newer xj's, after 2003. But wouldn't fit on the older ones, XJ8 (x308) or XJ6 (300). The older xj's stud pattern is 5X120.65, while the newer, including the x type and s type, jags are 5X108. The older jags are hard cars to find mags for, as standard euro 5 studs are 5X120, not 5X120.65, and will not fit on a jag.
Remove the plastic covers. The seat has four bolts; two at the back and two at the front. Unscrew the bolts holding it in position and remove the seat.
because maybe you car is either broken or the cold air is coming in from the outside With my car, it was Heater matrix clogged with radiator sealant. The workshop cleaned it and it's start working fine! Jaguars, depending on the model, have a seperate pump for the hot water for the heater. It's located on the left front inner wing, it is difficuult to see and remove. This is the most common problem on XJ40, X300, X305 and X308 shape jaguars. Same pump is used on X and S type too. Cost between £35-3&0 on ebay.
Many cars have a switch connected to the boot lock to alert the driver if the boot (= "Trunk", to our American friends :) ) isn't closed properly. Chances are, esp with an older car that you have either a) a faulty switch, or b) another fault somewhere else in the electrical connection If you like me have a 1997-2003 X308 model at least, there is a wire from the switch (and the interior boot-lights) running underneath the right boot-lid hinge. OVer the years this wire can have been damaged or flexed too often; have a look; it is quite feasible to repair this yourself it you have DIY skills. Best to add a new piece of wire and allow for movement, but cable-tie is a bit out of the way. If you're worried you can still self diagnose and get a car electrician to fix it in minutes.
