on my 1971 Ford 302 motor the coil sits right on the intake and held down by a clamp made just for the coil. if your distributer is located directy in front of the motor, the coil should lay about 3 inches back and to the left of the distributer and will be mounted directly under the air filter.
it depends what year of ford focus.up to 2oo4 there is one unit with two coils. each coil is for two cylinders. for 2005 each cylinder has a coil placed above each cylinder.
If you drive a Ford truck and things start to go wrong with it, like you are hearing strange noises or it is stalling on you or it just won't start, you need to get it into a mechanic as soon as possible. One problem that seems to be happening with the Ford trucks are the coil are going bad.
the coil could be shot the coil could be shot
More than likely it is your ignition module on the distributer. if not its the coil.
You may have a bad coil I had moisture some how get in and short out the plug coil.
ok the coil produces spark the distributer directs it but check and see if the cap and rotor are dirty if the coil is bad or if you have a bad ground
positive wire is the live wire it goes to the + term ground goes to - term
are under the coil that is held down by the 7mm bolt. the round black things.
i have a 1998 ford expedition and i had simaliar to the same problem. does it feel like your loosing power? on my truck it was a misfire on my engine coil i would get that check out
Perhaps a bad ignition coil? Perhaps a bad temperature sensor?
