There is no need to manually bleed the coolant system on a Northstar, the system is self bleeding. The small hose on the side of the overflow tank is the self-bleed line. If, by chance, this line is obstructed, then the air will be trapped & cause overheating problems. Be careful is the plastic nipple on the side of the overflow tank as it is very weak & cracks easily.
The coolant is water mixed with antifreeze (35-50%).
You should not need to bleed coolant. Ever. If the coolant is filling up on its own the stuff in there is not coolant and you have a big problem.
The Villager engine does not have a coolant bleed valve.
back bleed is always the best. Use a oil can wth pipe on the end to the bleed nipple. Open nipple and pump like mad until fluid is at its level on master cylinder
it has long life antifreeze from new the coolant system holds 8.3 litres if you put 3 litres of antifreeze in and the rest in water it will be ok might have a bleed screw on thermast houseing hope his helps Shane

There is a bleed screw on the thermostat housing. Remove the screw with the engine loose. Ounc you have pure coolant and no air you can close off the bleed screw.
yes, if this has happened you should also watch for infection
