Ok I know where that is assuming you have the 3.8 L V6 and not the 3.5 L. For the 3.8 L it's towards the bottom of the radiator (on the side facing the engine) on the right side of the car if you're looking at the front end. All it is is a little white plastic wingnut. It's very difficult to get to and I had a lot of trouble turning it but with a little elbow grease you should be able to turn it. It doesn't need to be turned that much. There's a rachet wrench called The Gator Grip which is a cheap As Seen On TV thing that uses one head to turn all bolts. I used this on the wing nut and was able to get it loose with it. You can order them online but I think places like Target and CVS sell them. The best way to reach it would be to lie on the ground and reach underneath to get it b/c it's easier and there's no chance that the fans will do some serious damage to your arm, which is possible trying to reach from the top. I'm gonna go out on a limb and say that the radiator on both engines is the same (easier and cheaper for the manufacturer) so the drain plug should be in the same location.
Open the drain out valve at the bottom of the radiator to allow the coolant to run out. Replace the valve and add the fresh coolant.
There is a plastic drain valve on one of the bottom corner's of the radiator (facing engine) open valve and properly catch & dispose of coolant that comes out. You may need to use pliers to loosen drain valve. Tighten by hand.
There is a pitcock valve on the bottom of the radiato. On the side facing the engine. It has a T shaped handle that you can unscrew to drain the radiator, and by default the engine block. You may have to use pliers to unscrew the plug, over time dirt and corrosion can make it dificult to loosen.
I have a 2001 4.7l. Mine had no drain valve on it. I just took off the lower hose and let it drain that way.
Open the drain valve on the side of the engine block.
What do you wish to do, drain the coolant or remove trapped air from the system? To drain coolant, there usually is a drain valve located at the base of one of the radiator tanks, there is one tank on each side of the radiator. If it is not there or broken, just remove the lower radiator hose, ENGINE COLD ONLY.
Doesnt have one, you have to remove the bottom hose to drain coolant.
Don't know off hand but you could always pull the lower radiator hose and drain it that way.
Assuming you mean "coolant" not water, if there isn't a drain valve on the radiator, remove the lower radiator hose and use a large/wide drain pan to collect the coolant.
Remove the lower radiator hose.
remove the lower coolant hose and drain it into a catch pan
there is a petcock on the bottom of the radiator, passenger side. it is tricky to get to, but it can be done.
