What awards can you get for serving in the marine corps?

There are many awards that you may earn while serving in the United States Marine Corps. Most Marines state that the greatest honor ever bestowed upon them was the title of United States Marine at the completion of their initial training at one of the Marine Corps Recruit Depots (Parris Island or San Diego), or Marine Officer Candidate School. Marines earn a variety of awards which are generally signified by Ribbons, Medals, and Badges. Some of these may be earned by completing certain schools, special duties, or tasks. Others are used to represent experiences, achievements, or valor.

As a Retiree/Reservist you may wear the uniform for basically any event that you wore the uniform while on active duty. v As a former Marine there are some restrictions: Ø You must have served during a time of war (i.e. earned the National Defense Medal during your time in service) and received an honorable discharge to wear the uniform. Where are badges worn on army uniform?

Current U.S. Military personnel wear a nametape or nameplate just above the right breast pocket when wearing dress or battle dress uniforms. This does not follow suit for U.S. Military aviators, who are typically seen in a one piece flightsuit. Aviators wear a leather or cloth patch just above their left breast. These are generally velcro backed to allow easy removal.
