It is located on the backside of the engine block just above the starter motor. If you raise the car up on stands and scoot way underneath you will be able to feel it above the starter. don't confuse it with the transmission speed sensor which is easily viewed below and to the side of the starter
The rear crankshaft sensor is located on the back of the crankshaft. The rear engine cover will need to be removed in order for the sensor to be visible.

You will have to remove starter, It is behind the starter in the block.

The crankshaft position sensor can be found on the bottom of the engine in a 2000 Honda Civic EX. It is next to the crankshaft itself.

The 2000 Buick Regal 3.8L Crankshaft Position Sensor is located behind the harmonic balancer pulley.

The 2000 Mercedes-Benz E3 20 crankshaft position in sensor is located on the back of the crankshaft. You will need to remove the rear engine cover in order to see the sensor.
