Cruise module is a servo electric unit It is a rectangle shaped alloy box bolted to a bracket on the passenger side stru tower or fender area The cruise control module has a black plastic top cover The cable goes from it to throttle assembly on engine Also a wire harness connects to it MAKE sure to match the GM letter code if you are changing it out with another one EXAMPLE match the AW if the original one has AW on it GZ if it says GZ Interchangeable with same letter code from Pontiac Sunfire as well

Well yes and no. Both have a 2.2 four cylinder if I'm not mistaken, but I don't think the earlier Cavalier's have the EcoTec motor. And you should be able to get the engine from the '03 into the '97 with no problem.

The ignition control module is located under the electronic ignition control module cover. On a 1997 2.4L cavalier, it will have the words 2.4L twin cam stamped on it. It is on the top of the engine and is held in place with four bolts. This cover must be removed to get to the spark plugs.
