If you are using Mac OS X 10.5 the downloads will be stored in a folder called Downloads. This is the default folder but you can change it to save the download anywhere you want on your system.

If you have a wireless router go to System Settings and click on Wireless Communications and make sure it says "Yes", if not change it to yes.
