Look directly under the steering colunm in the passenger compartment... should be located just under the dash.

Reading diagnostic codes is easy. The driver plugs the reader/scanner into the diagnostic port of the vehicle, and the scanner/reader will give a code if there is a problem, and tell them the type of problem.

The diagnostic port on a 94 Ford Taurus is located under the hood near the firewall usually on the driver's side. Ford started producing the Taurus in 1985.
The diagnostic port is located at the bottom of the lower dash panel to the left of the steering column.

The diagnostic connector is in the engine compartment on the left hand side between the battery and the fuse box. An adapter is required to read this port with an OBD2/OBDII diagnostic tool.
It is the port, where a diagnostic machine can be hooked up. The diagnostic will read codes from your vehicles computer. For instance if your check engine light comes on, you can plug the diagnostic machine into the data port and it will tell you why the check engine light came on so that you can get it fixed.
There should be a connector under the dash, driver side. It is located right above the park brake release lever facing straight down.
