83 cutlass is either in the steering column (down low away from the turn signal probably, or in the column "multifunction switch", possibly on the floor, but one would assuem you have looked. Relentless

How do remove and replace the ignition switch of a 1983 Oldsmobile Regency?

The standard sized tires for a 1983 Olds Cutlass Supreme are 195/75/14. However, the car can also handle 215/65/15, 205/65/15, 205/75/14.

If Mechanical (Carb) look at the front lower area of engine -- follow fuel lines

More than likely a metric TH200. Maybe a TH350 if you're lucky.

Make sure the bulbs are okay, then check the dimmer switch.

It is located in the very front of the carburetor. Using a crescent wrench, screw off the big nut and the fuel filter will be right there.

If the dimmer control is built into the turn signal lever rather than on the floor, then the switch will be inside the left side of the steering colume.

How do you add horsepower to a cutlass 1983 supreme brougham v6 4door?

Check bulbs Check dimmer switch if located on floor for loose or disconnected wires or corrosion

I put a 1972 350 old's engine in my 1984 cutlass supreme. It had a 307 and the swap went smooth. It bolted rite up to the turbo 350 transmission also. The engines have the same block so the weight difference was no problem. My cutlass is for sale if you know anyone that is interested. My #573-692-3558 The motor has 20,000 miles on a complete rebuild. Water pump, alternator, carburetor, distributor all new with the rebuild!

Inertia switch? If you're referring to the seat belt mechanism, all the components are low on the B-pillar. If the inertia mechanism sticks, it can usually be reset by opening the door, allowing a small plastic button to pop out at the lower-rear corner of the door. If it becomes too much of a hassle, you may want to look into lubricating it, but not before reviewing a service manual to see the applicable safety measures.

sealed at factory to keep down emissions to keep people from trying to adjust it all amercian car starting in early eighties were like that aftermarket carbs are ajustable

YES, It is done all the time. You can put it in a go-Kart if you know what you are doing. That is an EASY job to do on that cutlass.

Oldsmobile Didn't produce a V6 Cruiser in 1983 only a V8 350 or 307..there isn't a firing order to an engine that wasn't built...

what wires do i need to hook up to the alternator

Under the drivers dash to the left of the steering wheel.

It's ontop the starter and has been for years and it's called the starter solenoid. You send 12 volts to it when you crank the car.

Its a simiconductor device inside of the alternator.

how do you change a thermostat on a olds cutlass supreme 1983

find you a donor vehicle like a Monte Carlo,if you have a turn signal switch with a dimmer switch combined then your in luck ,the Monte Carlo has the wiper with delay, dimmer and turn signal switch all in one .if the wiper switch is on the dash then you might look twards a switch and wiper motor from a caprice classic, the wiper motor has the delay board installed on it just plug and play.don't foget to hook up the green pulse wire to the single terminal under the washer pump, this can be done because i converted my 71 ss chevelle to delay system, only mods was mounting the switch but i did it without drilling or cutting my dash.

The fan does not have a switch - the thermostat switch runs the fan.
