Facing the front of the vehicle - on the left left side of engine - it is virtually hidden w-a-y down below the hoses, wires, and 'stuff.' It's down there though - use a flashlight and look carefully - you'll see it.
On my 1984 CRX the dipstick is underneath the battery. I had to take the battery out to check it.

A 2002 Honda CR-V has a dipstick that can be pulled out to check the transmission levels. Find the dipstick under the hood and pull it out and then wipe off any liquid. Put the dipstick back in and pull it out slowly to read the levels on the dipstick.
