Rear center behind the Throttle Body and intake. Close to the firewall. Two hi-torque screws to remove the cap and two smaller hi-torque screws for the rotor. Easier to get to and work on if you remove the entire intake filter, hoses, air temp and MAF section of the air intake and cap on top of the Throttle Body assy.
The ignition module is located in the distributor, under the distributor cap.
If your S10 has a 2.2L engine, it doesn't have a distributor cap.
It is in the very back of the engine. Just follow a plug wire from the spark plug to the distributor cap. It is hard to see. All the plug wires start at the distributor and then hook to each plug.

What year the vehicle is would be helpful and what engine you have.
Distributor cap, rotor, plug wires or spark plugs could do that. Time for a tune up.

Yes it does it is under the distributor cap.
The 1997 S10 Blazer has an egr (Exhaust Gas Reclaimer) valve. It also does not have a point distributor, it is electronic.
