I would assume you have either a "Door Ajar" indicator or the Dome light stays on. I don't know if it applies to the 95 but on our 97 the switches are located on the door latch mechanism inside the door. WD40 spray on the door latch really worked for the Dome Light problem, I would guess it will work on the door ajar switch as well.
Open the driver's door and look at the side of the dash you can't see when the door is closed.
The door chime switch on a 96 ranger is part of the door latch mechanism. If your door chimes all the time when your driving try spray lube on the latch that should free it up.
The door ajar sensor, on a 2005 Ford escape, is located inside the door panel behind the door lock. There is a sensor on each door.
I had the same problem with my 02 Ford Ranger the sensor is inside the door (genius idea ford). no amount of wd40 helped. luckily for me it was my passenger door. I just unplugged it and the dome light doesn't turn on for the passenger door but works find for the driver's door.
The sensor is intergrated into the door latch. If it is not working (and the door chime stays on) spray it with WD 40. This almost always works.
Neon door sensor is located in the door latch. The closed door creates a complete circuit through a ground wire. The completed circuit shuts the light off.
in the door lock/latch.
check the sensor on the door, its probably bad
.The 2003 Ford F2 50 pickup truck door sensor is located be wall the door latch. When the door closes it creates a ground. The completed ground turns the open door light off
It's located outside the drivers door. First, you must determine who is knocking on your door. Then after that you can open the door to reveal the knock sensor or if it is a manual knock sensor roll down the window and simply say "Hello" to the knocker. Hope this helps.
In the latch mechanism
The door ajar switch is located on the backside of the door latch assembly, and is accessed inside the door by removing the door trim panel.
