The pet-cock or drain-cock for most GM cars are reverse thread. In other words, instead of "lefty loosy-righty tighty" the pet-cock turns to the right to open, and to the left to close.

With the vehicle cold, locate the drain cock on the bottom of the radiator which is a T-shaped bolt. Remove the radiator cap and loosen the drain cock. Tighten the drain cock and refill with half coolant and half water then run it and keep filling the radiator.
