It's a small drain cock on the bottom of the radiator.
Just beneath the lower radiator hose is the drain.
Most all engines have block drains for coolant. If they are reasonably accessible or not is the probelm.

It is located bottom drivers side corner of radiator. It is a white plastic valve.
To drain the coolant on a Mazda 626, locate the drain plug on the bottom of the radiator. Remove the plug and drain the coolant into a pan.
The drain plug is under the bottom left of the radiator. I find it much easier to just losen the lower radiator hose on the right side of the radiator. The drain plug tends to be hard to get open... KSH

Assuming there is coolant in the engine the most likely cause is a build up of sediment behind the coolant drain or in the coolant drain tap itself.

There are block coolant drains on both sides of the block. Drivers side block drain is towards the front and the passenger side is towards the rear. They take a large allen wrench to unscrew.
The best way is to use a coolant flush machine, as it takes fluid out, it puts back in the same amount. This way the system does not get air bound.
You drain coolant from the radiator. but according to the book ther are two plugs on the engine block that need to drain the coolant from.
