Where are the EGR valve PCV valve and oxygen sensor on a 1993 Mitsubishi Montero RS 3.0 liter engine?
The PCV valve should be under the intake manifold- pretty tough to get to w/o actually taking off the manifold. The EGR valve should be on the intake manifold itself. The O2 sensor should be threaded into the exhaust manifold(id by wire attached to it). Good Luck;)

Where are the pcv and the erg located on a 1993 Cadillac DeVille 4.9 and is it difficult to change them?
The PCV (Positive Crankcase Ventilation) valve is located on the right of the valve cover near the front of the engine. There is a hose from the valve to breather or air cleaner. The EGR (Exhaust Gas Recirculation) valve is under the air cleaner close to the fuel rail. These both have a difficultly level of zero, but may take you a little while longer if you haven't worked on cars much. :o)

0440 seems to be an evaporative system malfunction, usually that's just the fuel cap either not seated or the O-ring is worn out. P1404 EGR Closed Position Performance (GM)... this means that your EGR valve is bad. And yes, your car won't pass emissions if either of the above conditions exist.

If you have already replaced the EGR valve, than you have the possibility of a few problems. Depending on weather or not your EGR is electronically controlled, Vacuum controlled, or both, the possibilities vary. If your EGR is vacuum controlled, than you most likely have a vacuum hose loose, follow the hoses from the EGR, and see where they go, if one is loose, that's most likely your fix. If your EGR is Electronically controlled, than you may have a bad ground, or the wiring may not be correct. If your EGR is controlled by both, than you should check both your hoses and wires. V V V YOU MAY WANT TO ASK A DEALERSHIP TO DO THIS IF YOU PREFER NOT TO... V V V Another possibility if its is a flow concern, is that the port that flows the exhaust back into the intake through the EGR may be clogged. It is common for carbon to build up there. Have a look inside your throttle body with a flashlight. See the little hole that goes off to the side? That is the port from the EGR. Try removing the EGR, spray some injector cleaner down the hole where the valve sits on the intake. Look inside the throttle body to see if the cleaner flows out. If not, or only a little, than its likely that your EGR port is clogged with Carbon build up. Fill the EGR port with injector cleaner, let it sit a few minutes to help dissolve the carbon [like drain-o] than take some wire and shove it into the EGR port hole [from the EGR side], and try to break up the junk inside. Repeat step several times until you have broken up most of the carbon to clean the intake side of the EGR port, get a pick with a 90' angle, insert in the intake side port [in the throttle body] and clean it out. Spray more injector cleaner into the port from the EGR side, to verify that it is clean [flows through easy]. Replace EGR, start vehicle, let it run for a few minutes. You may need a dealership to reset your codes.

O-ring or flare is only the type of seal it has where it connects to the evaporator and the liquid line. The valve and the way it works is the same on either types of connection.
