On top of the engine to the right rear of the valve cover is a round plastic unit sort of hat shaped of black plastic with three vacuum hoses coming from it. This is your EGR vacuum modulator. Two hose come out toward the front of the car and one toward the rear and down. Follow this hose and it should go to your EGR valve.
Remove the EGR valve vacuum lines. Remove the EGR valve retaining screws. Wash the EGR valve in hot water. Allow the valve to thoroughly dry before installing it.
After unbolting the EGR valve, clean it with a carburetor spray. Allow it to dry completely before reinstalling the valve.
The Geo Prism and Toyota Corolla were assembled in the same factory on the same assembly line using the same engines. The EGR valves should be virtually identical.
The 1991 Geo Metro EGR valve can be located on the air cleaner housing. The valve will be on the back of the housing.
AnswerIt's under the EGR modular. The EGR modular is on the top of the engine on the passangers side close to the fire wall and looks like a black hockey puck. Follow the very short vaccum line off of it to the EGR valve. 2 hoses run to the EGR switch and the bottom 1 runs to the EGR valve.
do you mean the EGR valve? it's at the base of the intake manifold
egr valve
The egr valve is located on the drivers side of the engine on the rear of the intake manifold. Its held on by 2 bolts and has a vacuum line on the top of the diaphram.
I HAVE NOTICED THAT FROM 87-92 MANY AUTO MAKERS DID NOT USE AN EGR VALVE...EXAMPLE 88FORD TAURUS,92 TOYOTA COROLLA
Are you referring to the transmission? If so, the answer is no.
geo metro had a problem with the egr valve going bad causing the # 3 exhaust valve to burn, which could cause a lack of power in the engine performance. if this exhaust valve was burnt due to a faulty egr valve the new egr valve could have gotten clogged again causing a check engine light to reappear.
Yes the Geo Prism has ait bags.
