Question: "Who invented the Dodge Cummins engine block?" Answer: This engine was originally developed for the Case Earthmover.
Generally no. The amount of heat is small, but you should hear a buzzing noise when the heater is running. Mark
The Cummins engine does not come with the cord installed unless the truck has the cold weather package. Normally you have to buy the cord from the dealer. It will go on the passenger side of the engine. The heater is in the block behind the oil filter.

It's real simple! You just remove a cap from the side of the block on the passenger side and then connect you cord to it and fish the plug in end of your cord tothe front of the truck for easy connecting.
Cummins owns the engine. Dodge just offers the computer instead of cummins. Cummins is a private company it is not owned by Ford or Dodge.
