The engine block heater cord for the 2009 Ford Flex is at the top front section of the engine, right above the radiator fan. Open the hood and look down toward the radiator, it is right in front on top of the radiator. The cord has a round cover on it. Remove the round cover and you will see the 3-prong plug-in.
The block heater,which they refer to in my 2004 manual as the coolant heater is located under the hood,right behind the battery;a 110 wire with plug on the end all wrapped up in a little plastic covered holder attached to the battery cover. This is an option so if you don't see the plug then maybe you don't have one
