A Ford diesel diagnostic code P0470 means there is an exhaust pressure sensor malfunction. This may be caused by faulty exhaust back pressure sensor, or pressure sensor is open or shorted.
The exhaust back pressure sensor on a 2006 6.0 diesel Ford F3 50 can be located near the exhaust manifold. The sensor is a probe that can be removed by loosening the nut.
driver side on front of head, just follow the tube from the exhaust manifold on the drivers side and its there.
The exhaust back pressure sensor or EBP on the 04 is located by the upper radiator hose by the block. It has a 3 pin connector and accepts a 24mm socket.
Could be a diesel? If not then replace your oxygen sensor on your exhaust. A bad oxygen sensor causes the exhaust smoke to be dark in color.
Bank 1 is the passenger side of the engine on your Ford Excursion Sensor 2 would be in the exhaust after it passes through the catalytic converter ( downstream )
I do not own a Ford but do you mean the MAP sensor? Map is Manifold Air Pressure If you did mean a MAP Sensor. (ON a Diesel 7.3) Slide under the front of the truck and it is up between the radiator on the engine block below the fan
The map sensor and boost pressure sensor are the same thing.
the passanger side coming out of the heads, on the exhaust, before the catalytic converter
The Exhaust Back Pressure Control Valve Module is located in the front part of the Engine Compartment. It is just ahead of the Fuel Filter assembly, and behind the belt tensioner. It is powered by a three plug connecting wires harness.
This sensor varifies flow of the exhaust gases to the intake manifold. If flow is interupted the sensor will inform the onboard computer that the exhaust recirculation system has failed resulting in a check engine light to come on.
the sensor is under the exhaust manifold at the rear of the engine
