Where is the factory installed remote doorlock -security unit located and where is it powered from on a 1999 Mystique?

I have a "kill switch" located under the dash board on the driver's side. Previously had problems when using the remote, the car wouldn't start. Used the "switch" to get it started. Hope this helps!
