inside the front passenger side kick-plate (just in front of the fuel reset switch)... three little metric head bolts hold it in.

I found mine in the backseat passenger panel. I found out I even had keyless entry....
Stereo amplifier? There isn't one except the one inside the stereo receiver. I had to build a mounting bracket for my aftermarket amp out of 1x4 lumber and wood screws, but I'm sure there are better ways to go about it, although that way is arguably the cheapest.

On a 1997 Ford Explorer, the stereo amplifier is located above the rear wheel on the passenger side. It can be accessed by removing the side panel.

go to walmart in the auto stereo section they sell the tools to pull out the factory stereo on ford .the 2 tools that are shaped like big (U) . one for each side of stereo
