Up against the firewall on the passenger side
The blower resistor assembly is located under the hood, on the heater case to the right of the blower motor. Haynes Manual #36071
It is likely the duct work how ever it can be the fan has come off the fan motor
Resistor on the heater blower motor has failed
From the www.2carpros.com website: http://www.2carpros.com/forum/1998-ford-ranger-blower-motor-vt87146.html "(The blower fan resister is) located in the engine compartment inboard of the blower motor and slightly below it."
There isn't one. There'll be a fuse for the HVAC blower, but the heater itself doesn't use electricity (other than the blower fan). That year Ranger should have cables going to the blend door, so there won't be electricity there.
The blower fan motor is located under the hood on the left side in a Ford E150
how do i take the fan cluch off a 89 ford ranger yo replace
You can gain access to the "blower motor" from the passenger side firewall under the hood. The fan unit itself should be mounted to that motor.
under air cleaner assembly
the blower fan resistor is located in behind the glove compartment to the left of the blower motor. you have to remove glove compartment to get at resistor.
you have to have fan clutch wrenches
do you have to remove fan shroud to access thermostat housing on a 1997 2.3L ford ranger
