follow the top radiator hose to locate the thermostat housing, remove the hose from the housing then unbolt the housing. remove and replace the thermostat and rebolt the housing to the motor, replace the hose The housing is made of cheap metal and should be replaced. follow the top radiator hose to the engine. that is where your thermostat is. you will have to drain the radiator, remove the engine side of the hose and remove the thermostat housing to access it. remove thermostat clean mating surface of housing and engine, install thermostat, install housing, secure radiator hose, fill with coolant. start engine and check for leaks.
Remove the thermostat housing. where is, and how do i remove the housing
Remove the hose from the thermostat housing then remove the housing and then the thermostat.
It varies from one engine to another but in most cases you drain a few qts of coolant from the radiator, remove the upper radiator hose from the thermostat housing on the engine side then remove the thermostat housing to gain access to the thermostat. Take note of how the thermostat is installed, the spring faces into the engine.
