The fill port cap is on top of the transaxle. It is red, about the size of a Golf ball. It is threaded into the transaxle and you to turn it counter clockwise to remove it.
It is located on the right side of the engine near the rear. If you take a look at the near the base of the engine there is a red cap and that is it.
Where is the radiator cap located on a 2000 Oldsmobile Alero?
Can't find it ? It does not have one ! Only has a fill cap. Fluid is checked by removing a plug on transmissin. This is great job for GM dealer.
If your car is the 2.4 version then I can help. Under your intake tube their is this little RED Cap on top of your transmission. You have to drain your trans first then unscrew the RED cap and refill transmission with 4 quarts of trans fluid.
Left hand side on the top or side of theradiator
I had a 2000 Olds Alero 4 cylinder. There is not a dipstick for the transmission, it can be checked by hoisting the vehicle and remove the fill nut/cap. If the fluid is at the top there is enough. I would recommend taking it to the shop for this, as I do not have the specifics of where it is located. I have a 2000 Alero v 6 engine automstic trans and mine is what they call a sealed for life transmission, it does have a filler cap but no dipstick. so the previous answer would be correct to check the fluid level and as long as u have no leaks from the tranny u shouldn't have to add any if little at all, Sincerely, TONY ,, Indianapolis, IN.
It won't have one. The owner's manual will specify what the time intervals are for a fluid change. If you lost the owners manual, you will have to go and ask the dealer.AnswerThis transmission in the Alero, Grand Am, and Malibu has a fill cap. On the side of the trans near the bottom is a plug you remove to check the level; similar to a rear end or manual trans. The car needs to be running in park and jacked up level.
The transmission fluid dipstick for the Oldsmobile Alero does not exist. In place of the traditional fluid checking mechanism, the Alero has two caps. One of these is red, is located in the vicinity of the master brake cylinder, and is for refilling transmission fluid. The other cap, or plug, is 15mm and roughly halfway down the transmission. Loosen it carefully. If fluid comes out, the transmission fluid is good. If not, however, more fluid must be added.
Low fluid. They say it is a sealed system but in fact it is not. Your fill hole is a red cap under the air intake box on the top of the transmission. You are to be able to see fluid when you remove the cap. DON'T OVER FILL!!!!. I just added some and still didn't see it but it worked fine after addingsome. Careful do not over fill !!!!
where would I find fill cap for transmission on a caravan?
Look on the front valve cover and it is to the right of the oil fill cap. There will be a black hose going to it that makes a 90 degree angle. Pull that off and then pull the PCV out.
red cap under the air filter box.
