The main fuel filter is located under the car's center on the left side. You will find it alongside the main high pressure fuel pump on a metal support plate held up with 3 bolts. Remove the 3 bolts with a 10mm socket wrench to lower the plate. Place a catch pan below the filter to catch any leaking fuel. Be careful not to get fuel in you eyes or running down your arms. Remove the 2 bolts holding the banjo fuel pipe connections to the filter. Note the direction of the filter. Loosen the clamp holding the filter to the support plate and slide out the old filter. Install the new filter in the same direction as the old one and use new copper sealing washers on the banjo connections. There is also a low pressure pre-pump in the fuel tank that has a filter on it as well. That filter is usually only changed if you are going into the gas tank to repair the pre-pump. i have a 1989 740 and mine is located on under the hood it the green 1 on the side next to the air filter
Fuel pump is in the fuel tank, the filter, if fitted, is in-line, usually a grey cylinder in the engine compartment.
under the left hand bumper
Not sure what type you have but, I have a DL station wagon and the fuel filter is located under the hood on the drivers side by the strut tower.
where is the fuel fiter located on a 1989 buick century wagon 2.5l 4cyl, and how do i go about replacing it.
Yes. They are exactly the same as long as the newer wagon is also a 240 (not a 740). All 240 hoods are interchangeable from 1986 on.
I own a 1989 745 Turbo Wagon &, a 1996 960 both absolutely trouble free.
the fuel filter is located on the firewall
Cruise control vacuum reservoir
In the 1989 Volvo 740 GL with a Bosch system it is located just above the steering column on the dash.
Europartsdirect.com is also a great source for '89 240. Sometimes cheaper than IPDUSA.
Either the fuel filter wont let the gas come in or the fuel pump is broken.
