Try on the shallow frame on the passenger side between the back door and the rear right tireIt actually depends on whether the car is fuel injected or carburated. If the car is fuel injected it will be an inline filter located under the body.If it is carburated the fuel filter is actually located inside the carburetor. Look at the front of the carburetor where the main fuel line feeds into it. The fuel line fitting is a 5/8" nut fitted into a housing with a 1" nut. You must hold the 1" nut in place with a crescent wrench and turn the 5/8" with another wrench. Once you remove the fuel line you then remove the housing with the crescent wrench and the little paper fuel filter fits inside there.Mine is a 1989 but they are both in the same model range and this is where mine is.
