You've got one on the left hand side of the engine (close to the windshield washer liquid container) chrome top with two elbowed tubes on top. The other one is in the gas tank...up to you to figure out how to change it! Watch it when you change filters, system is pressurized. Have fun Andy
The Subaru Outback fuel filter is located inside of the fuel tank. Changing the fuel filter can be very costly and time-consuming.
There is no Power Steering Filter on a 2002 Subaru Legacy/Outback.

I just found an answer on yahoo that says it is a life time filter located in the tank. I'm sure that means the lifetime of the pump.
This vehicle is fuel injected and does not have a carburator. The air flow sensor is located atop the air filter housing, the throttle body is on top of the engine with the air supply hose attached and the fuel injectors are located at each cylinder.
There should be a black box located on the left, inside your engine bay, mine's made out of plastic, your air filter should be located in there.
I found no mention of a power steering filter in the owner's manual or in the service manual for Outback.
It's located in rear engine compartment on the driver side. A metal can connected with two rubber hose. HC
