on a carb engine the fuel filter is on the front of the carb. follow the 3.8 line from the fuel pump (lower pass side) it will come up to the carb and there will be a 5/8" threaded end on it. loosen the tube nut and threaded into the carb there will be a 1" fitting loosen and remove it from the carb and along with asmall amount of fuel the filter will fall out.

The fuel filter is probally underneath bolted to the frame, the fuel line comes out of the gas tank and is secured to the inner part of the frame and the fuel filter should be bolted to the frame about the center of the truck.
