Answer on the 1997 dodge Dakota there is 2 fuel filters (according to the chiltons book) i am yet to find the one on the motor, but there is one on the frame on the drivers side. on mine there is not a filter screen on the pump.I imagine it is the same as my 2001 Dodge Dakota. Mine doesnt have one. It is just a screen type thing that is built into the fuel pump and is not easily serviceable. You have to replace the whole fuel pump. It is not common for these screens to clog-up any way. Good luck.
