If the Caprice is a 1991+ caprice, then it should be located near the passenger side rear tire. You will find that it is an inline fuel filter about the size of a small can of tomato paste with poles sticking out each end. The filter is easy to remove by hand, but sometime can be a pain if it has not been changed out in awhile. Most replacements are plastic filters, but NAPA has metal versions. Easier to see where the unit is by taking a flash light and laying down on the opposite side of the car and looking over. I had a hard time finding it the first time I went looking. Now that I know where it is, I can do it in about 10-15 minutes tops depending on what I am doing.
the fuel filter is on the carb. you have to take off the fuel line
If your carbarator is a quadrajet, the fuel filter is built into the carbarator at the end of the fuel line entering the carb.
it is located under driver side back door
The fuel filter is located on the passenger side frame rail just ahead of the rear wheel. Drivers side, mounted to the frame. The fuel filter on a 1991 Caprice is located on the passenger side frame rail just ahead of the rear wheel.
The fuel filter in under the car, in front of the tank, in the fuel line that leads from the tank to the front of the car, (i.e. to the engine.) This filter in attached via the use of quick-connectors.
