1 hour labor charge.
I'm sure you can. You would be better off with a 455 Pontiac. You can bore and stroke it to 468ci.
on my 68 charger it is in line between fuel pump & carburator
Yes it is, the nova is also useable in the camaro or firebird,I put a 73 nova subframe under my 68 camaro.
Pontiac uses same block no small or big, Chevy describes their engines small or big
Try the driver side core support on the engine side. That's where my 68 is located. Sorry I couldn't be more specific for your year of 'Bird.
Dimensionally they are different. It wouldn't be a direct swap by any means. That's not to say it can't be done. I am putting an '80 T/A disc break rear end in a '68 Firebird. One of the biggest things you have to look for is the width of the rear end.

The man most credited with it is Pontiac engineer Herb Adams. He had been head of development team on the PFST (Pontiac Firebird Sprint Turismo) in 1967-68. The special suspension parts developed for the PFST were used on the first Trans Am in 1969. Adams was head of special projects for Pontiac until the mid 1970's and raced Firebirds (and later his own renditions the "Fire-Am" and "Silverbird") in SCCA competition for several years.
The biggest concern here is the alternator/voltage regulator design. The 68 is external while the 78 has it built into the alternator. There are websites that explain how to do this. The only other real issue is the coil. The HEI needs more voltage than the small wire running to the external type coil of a 68.

What exactly are you needing to know? I have a 68 Firebird sitting in the driveway. Are you needing to know colors of wires on the exterior bulbs or routing etc for the interior?
